Foto-foto mobil dengan emblem Esemka dan Garuda 1 meramaikan jagat maya hari ini, Selasa, 30 Januari 2018. Dilihat dari bentuknya, foto yang diyakini sebagai mobil Esemka itu memiliki dimensi yang seimbang dengan Mitsubishi Pajero Sport dan Toyota Fortuner.
Berdasarkan penelusuran Tempo, Esemka Garuda 1 identik dengan SUV Foday Landfort buatan pabrikan Cina, Guangdong Foday Automobile Co., Ltd. Model ini sudah dipasarkan di Cina sejak November 2014.
Model ini dibekali mesin Mitsubishi 4G69S4N bensin 2.4 liter (2.378cc) dan D19TCID1 diesel Turbocharged 1.9 liter (1.850cc). Mesin bensin mampu menghasilkan tenaga 100kW pada 5.250 rpm dan torsi maksimum 200 Nm pada 3.000 rpm. Sedangkan mesin diesel mampu menghasilkan tenaga 100 kW pada 4.000 rpm dengan torsi maksimum 300 Nm pada 1.800-2.800 rpm.
Secara tampilan, model ini bisa dibilang cukup mewah. Interior serba modern, dengan desain SUV masa kini. Lampu depan sudah dengan projector, jok dilapis kulit, dan punya sunroof.
Di Cina, Foday Landfort ditawarkan dalam 6 varian dengan harga jual mulai dari 108.000 yuan (setara Rp 232 juta) hingga 148.800 yuan (Rp 312,5 juta).
